Starters and Plenaries

Ideas for Starter and Plenary Activities from the ISSEN CD-ROM
One of the principles being emphasised through the Key Stage 3 Strategy is the ‘three part lesson’ and the use of Starter and Plenary activities. The download document here provides a table of suggestions for readily available starter and plenary activities that are part of the ISSEN CD-ROM. They have been arranged according to the topics of the Key Stage 3 Scheme of work to make it easier for you to find resources supporting the topic that you may be currently teaching.

How to use this document
When you open the download document you can click on any of the blue titles to directly go to the resource described. The document has been included in Word format and as a pdf. You may wish to edit or add further details to the Word version.

Generic Starter and Plenary Resources
Some other adaptable resources are included on the CD-ROM and the ideas for activities/learning games can be applied to many other parts of the curriculum (e.g. Hot Potatoes, Flashcards and Odd One Out).
